Crisscross
Doing things her own way.
Crisscross has a crossed beak. The technical term is scissor beak — the upper and lower halves don't quite line up the way they do on the other hens. She was born this way, and she will always be this way, and she has figured out how to be a chicken anyway.
Eating takes her a little longer. Drinking takes her a little longer. The Treat Feeder, when it dispenses, requires a slightly different angle of approach for her than for the others. She has worked all of it out.
She has the name she has because of the beak. Everything else she does — the way she navigates the run, the way she sorts out the hens around her, the way she gets from one corner of the coop to the other — is her own.

How to spot her on stream
The white Easter Egger with the grey neck. The beak is visible at a closer angle, but the white-and-grey coloring is what you'll notice first — there's no other hen with that combination in the flock. Watch her at the feeder for a moment if you want to see her work; the angle she takes is different from the others, and once you've seen it, you'll always recognize her.

Coexists easily with Applesauce, the other Easter Egger — the two of them have a quiet, parallel rhythm. The rest of the coop has long since stopped treating her as different.
