Cher

The other half. Don't ask which is which.

Cher is rarely alone. If you can see Cher, you can usually see Sonny, and if you can see Sonny, Cher is somewhere in the frame.

She is the steadier one of the pair. Black Australorps are known for being calm and even-tempered, and Cher carries that energy through the coop β€” the dark, quiet anchor next to Sonny's brighter alertness. They balance each other. The pairing makes more sense up close than it does on paper.

People sometimes ask which one is Sonny and which one is Cher. The honest answer is that, after a certain point, it stops mattering. They are a unit. The unit is the point.

How to spot her on stream

The near-black hen. In direct sunlight her feathers throw a distinct green sheen β€” once you've seen it on stream, it's the easiest visual confirmation. Otherwise: find Sonny, the bright white one. Cher is the dark one beside her.

Relationships

Sonny, principally and almost exclusively. Cordial with Chicky One. Holds no opinions on the Beyoncé–Ariana matter; she has other priorities.

If she could turn back time. (She would not. The coop is good.)
